Fellow blogging mom of many, including one with Down syndrome, Susanna, posted this on her blog the other day. I was, and still am, incredibly convicted. She is absolutely correct. I have no right to nurse an offense or even become offended in the first place. Words I will ponder for years to come.
Wow, that was amazing. Very powerful, things I havent thought of in that way before...loved it.
ReplyDeleteI understand everything she is saying, what really gets to me when people are mean, dismissive, ignorant or any combination of the above is the pain in my heart, for them, for me, and for my daughter, and I ponder the whys more than I should, wish I could brush off rude people better, but I do think of them for a few days. I rarely say a word to them however, just move on and explain to my children that the person is very sad and does not understand US.
